What about my existing data & models can I make then 3D?

Currently there is no tool to import or convert existing CAD or item information so it can be viewed in 3D. The only workflow is to open the model/item in Inventor with the supported CAD add-in and press the 3D Export button.

What if I don't have Inventor as my CAD tools?

Currently for the preview, Inventor with the supported CAD add-in 22.2 or higher is the only method of converting models and items to be viewed in the 3D viewer. We are investigating how SolidWorks and Creo CAD systems could export models to the 3D viewer.

Is there a measure option in the viewer?

The technology is a preview, measure is not currently supported.

Is there a mark-up option in the viewer?

The technology is a preview, mark-up of the 3D Viewer model is not currently supported.

Why can't I see features added to the assembly in the 3D Viewer?

A limitation of the format is that exported assembly files just contain the position information for the parts and sub assemblies no feature information is saved in the 3D file. for more information see here

What version of the item is published to the 3D Viewer?

I have items in my assembly which are not at the latest revision, what will be published, The version in the assembly or the latest version of the file? If the item in the assembly is revision 2 then revision 2 will be published. Evan if revision 3 or greater exists in Sovelia.

Can I still create a 3D export even if the model is at the state "INP" (In Production)?

We have included logic to support the current workflows enforced within your organisation.
